Deming® Vertical Turbine Pump Install at a Florida Water Treatment Facility Passes the “Nickel Test!”

Customer Challenge

A Florida water treatment facility needed a way to install a 24″ 200 HP Deming® vertical turbine pump to meet the increasing demands of the facility. Installation of the pump became an instant challenge. The pump size was 152 inches high and needed to fit into an area with clearance of only 92 inches. Typical roof installation was not possible without causing significant structural damage. Another way had to be found.

Collaborative Solution

Process Systems, Inc. worked with facility engineers to evaluate alternatives. They decided to bring the pump in from the side of the building. Process Systems customized the large Deming® pump so it could be installed in three separate pieces.

Successful Outcome

The team achieved a successful installation upon initial startup. The pump ran so smoothly and quietly that “you could set a nickel on its edge and it would not move!”
